Alumni Relations continue to be a growing area with the Upsilon Upsilon Chapter. With strong alumni involvement and interest in the Chapter and Fraternity, we continuously try and find more ways to take advantage of the alumni motivation to assist the chapter. We are constantly improving our planning and organizational structure to better promote our relations with the local alumni.

The Chapter works very closely with the Seattle Alumni Chapter and the Elliot Bay Alumni Chapter as various undergraduates attend their regularly scheduled meetings and lunches. We actively use their electronic mailing lists to inform local alumni of our upcoming events and occasionally attend their events such as Seattle Mariners baseball games with our potential recruits. The great working relationship with the local alumni chapters is primarily due to the fact that both presidents are Upsilon Upsilon graduates, and they are eager to promote our chapter activities with all Sigma Chi alumni.

The Executive Committee officers are required to attend the monthly Building Association meetings to provide updates on the Chapter’s operations and maintain positive relations with our alumni board members. We are able to have open dialogues with the board members discussing any Chapter issue. The alumni of the Building Association have been a valuable asset as they provide assistance to the Chapter in anyway. The Building Association is in the process of recruiting additional alumni to sit on the board who will be able to provide expertise in various facets of chapter operations. This Alumni Advisory Board will be assisting and guiding the undergraduate officers through transitional periods and provide training to effectively serve each position. To date, this advisory board system has been highly successful in improving the operations of the House Manager, Steward, Maintenance Coordinator, and Recruitment Chairmen positions.
