Upsilon Upsilon places a strong emphasis on scholastics and academic performance. The Chapter strongly believes that the overall development of individual character must be based on learning. All of the facets of our Chapter operations are directly related to education and the pursuit of improving ourselves. Our objective is to recruit new members who excel in scholastics and continue to develop them with learning opportunities for leadership development.
Over the past three years our Chapter GPA has consistently been above the All Men’s Average. Our Chapter GPA for winter quarter was 3.24 which ranked us 7th among 29 fraternities. Our scholarship program is continuously reviewed internally, and we are always looking for creative ways to encourage our membership to scholastically perform at their best. In the past the Chapter relied primarily on the Brothers’ own desire and motivation to achieve good grades. This year we implemented several different strategies to improve the scholastic nature of the Chapter.
In this spirit, the Chapter established the following as our main goals for scholarship in the academic year 2006-07.
- Continuously strive to attain a higher Chapter GPA from quarter to quarter
- Maintain a Chapter GPA above the All Men’s Average
- Introduce new and interesting scholarship & leadership development programs
- Distribute as much scholarship awards to encourage high academic performance
- Involve parents and alumni to participate
